The Ride

Saturday August 27th 2011

Welcome everyone!  We are fast approaching our 7th year for The 9-11 Flight Crew Memorial Motorcycle Ride!  We had initially just hoped to pull off one year but we're back again for a 7th, because for us "NEVER FORGET" is not just a cliche.  If you rode with us last year the venue is the same.  If this will be your first time joining us, I believe you won't be disappointed.

12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
Registration at Colorado National Speedway.  In order for us to complete the ride and return in time to launch the opening ceremonies we will leave at 2:30 SHARP.  Everyone should plan to arrive by 2:00 PM in order to sign in and line up.  We will leave those not ready.  The hospitality section will be open for you to watch the race cars do practice laps until we depart.  Food and drinks will also be available FOR PURCHASE.

2:30 PM - 5:15 PM
The ride itself is approximately 100 miles.  Gas is available just a couple miles North of the track.  We do not stop during our ride. We take approximately 2:30 hours to complete.  There are no interstate miles, all highway / 2 lane roads and once we're in the mountains it is a spectacular ride. MAP

5:15 PM - 6:00 PM
We return to the track and line up right outside the pits.  For those that have never ridden with us this is truly one of the highlights of this event.  At approximately 5:45 PM we will ride onto the race track.   Complete between 3 and 4 laps and line up on the infield, in front of the Grand stands.  We will make a tribute speech to the heros we lost on Sept 11th, 2001.  Color guard will present the flags for the Star Spangled banner, a prayer will be given for the drivers safety and we will exit the track.

6:00 PM - 10:30 PM
We will return to the Hospitality Section (turn 2 private area), where you will have an opportunity to eat, drink, watch the races and socialize.  Your registration fee of $20 rider / $15 passenger includes: Food (Hamburger / Hot Dog and Chips),  a drink (Non-Alcoholic beverage only), a 2011 Ride 9-11 Pin for the first 150 riders, and admission to races!  Food (beyond what your registration included) and Alcohol are available for purchase.

Extras:
If you are an Airline Employee (Pilot, Flight Attendant, Maintenance personnel, etc.)  we ask that you bring part or all of your uniform to wear when we pull out onto the track.  This helps us bring attention to those airline brothers and sisters that were killed on Sept 11th.

The 2011 ride, just like our previous rides is a non profit event. All of the money we raise is donated to Metro State College as an aviation scholarship for a young deserving student. We also contribute to our sponser, the Flight Crew Memorial Foundation in Texas as they have built a beautiful tribute memorial statue . We thank you for your participation in this event. As always this ride is for all makes and models of motorcycles, both 2 and 3 wheeled.  If you don't ride you are still invited to the track to support this cause.

If you will be attending this ride and are not from Denver, Mile High Harley Davidson has motorcycles for rent.  When calling ask for AJ and mention that you are flying in for the 9/11 Memorial ride.  This shop is conveniently located near DIA airport and next to a number of hotels.
