9/11 Ride 2010 Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the 2010 Ride 9/11 Memorial motorcycle ride. I felt it was another great success. We were blessed with beautiful weather and most importantly a safe ride without incident. Leaving the Colorado National Speedway 30 minutes earlier (2:30) this year allowed us to do the ride at a leisurely pace and enjoy the scenery while reflecting on the events of Sept. 11 2001. Our turn out was fantastic with approximately 140 motorcycles and 170 participants. When lined up, this is an impressive group. Once back to the speedway we again had an opportunity to ride on the racetrack and for many of us this is the highlight of the day. The motorcycles took up the entire track creating a show for the race fans, which were very supportive. I’d like to thank our guest speaker, Beal. Both his memorial speech and prayer were moving and heartfelt. In addition to all the bikers on the track, there were two Cub Scout troops for the color guard and a few Marines in full dress. Very moving. Once off the track we spent the evening enjoying the races and fellowship. Our raffle was a success, thank you to all the donors. Our t-shirts were very popular this year so I’d like to thank Mile High Harley Davidson for that donation. The sale of these items with the registration should allow us to make another scholarship donation as well as a contribution to the 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial Foundation statue. If you did attend and have any comments you’d like to make about the ride that I could put on our site please email me at Paul@ride911.com. It was our intention for this to be the last year for the ride. I’ve had a lot of requests to do the ride one more year, as next year will be the 10th anniversary. Let me know what you think. As always never forget those that we lost on Sept. 11th, 2001, ride safe and God Bless. Sincerely, Paul Lucken Images from The 2010 Ride!
